The S.T. Yau High School Science Award (Asia) was founded by the internationally renowned mathematician Professor Shing-Tung Yau. It aims to cultivate young talents in science and technology, stimulating innovation, originality and creativity in scientific investigation among secondary school students in Asia. The Award is based in Hong Kong and co-organised by The Hong Kong Academy of Sciences (ASHK), Yau Mathematical Sciences Centre(YMSC) of Tsinghua University and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It covers Hong Kong and the entire Asian region outside Mainland China and consists of six subject categories: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Economic & Financial Modeling.
