Professor Dennis Lo received the Jiménez Díaz Lecture Award

Prof. Dennis Lo, President of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, Li Ka Shing Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong, is honored to receive the Jiménez Díaz Lecture Award. Prof. Lo is the first Chinese scholar to receive this honour.

At the Commemorative Lecture, Prof Lo remarked that, “Breakthroughs may occur when you can see hidden connections between apparently different fields. For example, seeing the connection between cancer and pregnancy had allowed me to make advances in molecular diagnostics.”

The Jiménez Díaz Commemorative Lecture is an annual event organized by the Conchita Rábago Foundation, which was established in 1969, to distinguish the work of an outstanding international figure in medicine or biomedical research.
