Professor Jun YU receives three Cell Press Awards in the same year: the “Women in Science Award”, the “2024 Cell Press China Best Paper Award” and the “2024 Cell Press China Most Picked Award”

Professor Jun YU, Member of Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics and Assistant Dean at The Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine, makes history by becoming the first scholar to receive three Cell Press Awards in the same year: the “Women in Science Award”, the “2024 Cell Press China Best Paper Award” and the “2024 Cell Press China Most Picked Award”. She is also the only awardee from a Hong Kong institution this year.

These awards recognise the groundbreaking discoveries by Professor Yu’s team in gastric and colorectal cancer research, bringing new hope to cancer prevention, screening, and treatment, while further strengthening China’s leading position in early detection and prevention strategies for digestive diseases.
